The History...
In 2002, Scott Kolb called on a handful of his peers to join him in Vegas for the Viva Las Vegas Pro Am.
Where else do you begin a trip of this calibre? At the iconic Flamingo with a round at Dragon Ridge, among others. In years to come, staying at bigger hotels, playing at increasingly fabulous courses, and the addition of many, many, many more participants, The Vegas Baby Invitational evolved into the amazing trip it is today.
2003 saw a growth from 54 to 95 participants. The ProAm really stared to take shape: Teams of 5, the addition of Bus Transportation, Rio Secco, Anthem, and of course Winston Michell!
2004 brought our first full shotgun of 140 players. Beers and Vodka were purchased at the gas station and ice was collected from the hotel floors using the little ice buckets. ’Vegas Baby’ finally got its name thanks to Colin McCulley having everyone chant it all week.
2005-2011 saw constant growth, from two rotations, to three and then four for the 10th anniversary year where almost 500 participants attended!
With so many interested in the practice-round on Sunday, 2012 began the option for a four-day rotation and the creation of the 1&3.
In most recent years, we have pushed the 600 participant mark, moving us to 5 rotations! This year we celebrate our 21st annual trip to the desert and plan to return for years to come.
Thank you to all our Volunteers for making this amazing trip happen year after year!
Thank you to all our Professionals for being great ambassadors of the game.
Thank you to all our VegasBaby participants over the years.
Our Team is looking forward to many years to come.
See you in November!!
